Somersett and Northgate sit above Mae Anne, Mogul and Verdi are down the I-80 grade, and the trip to Tahoe climbs thousands of feet in a few miles. The best time for a coolant check is before the first freeze in October or November and again before the June heat. The freeze-point test is part of the multi-point check, and we only recommend the flush if the reading or the age says so. ### Which coolant will you use? The type your manufacturer specifies for your make and year, mixed to the ratio the manual gives. We do not top off one chemistry with another. ### My car overheated on the Mount Rose Highway.
