That makes the engine air filter the single most important thing we look at on a Johnson Lane oil change, and the dust is where this page starts. ## Dirt roads and the air filter A gravel driveway and a mile of unpaved road twice a day is the textbook case of the dusty-road condition every manufacturer lists as severe service. The Census centroid for Johnson Lane sits at the airport end of the area, which is why OSRM free-flow routing says about 27 minutes; from the subdivision streets the trip is closer to the Minden figure. The Carson City service center on College Parkway is about 28 minutes north by the same routing, so for Johnson Lane the Gardnerville service center is the one on the way. ## Cold mornings in Carson Valley The Minden station averages 188 nights a year at or below freezing, 75 at 20 degrees or colder and 2 at zero or colder, the coldest numbers of any station near our four service centers (NOAA 1991-2020 normals).
