Longley does the oil change and the Washoe smog test together, weekdays 8 to 5 and Saturday 8 to 3. ★★★★★ 4.8 stars from 339 Google reviews 89511 is a long ZIP. It starts near the service center in south Reno and climbs southwest along the Mount Rose Highway through Arrowcreek, Galena Forest and the homes below Mount Rose, and south along Steamboat toward Pleasant Valley. The lower end is minutes from Longley Lane; the upper end is a mountain drive. Either way, this is the service center on the way into town. ## From the foothills to Longley From the Mount Rose Highway, come down to I-580 and head north, then exit toward Longley Lane; from the lower neighborhoods, South Virginia Street and Kietzke Lane get you there by surface streets. OSRM puts the ZIP center at 5 minutes. Homes up near Galena are naturally farther, more like a quarter hour or longer in winter. Mae Anne Avenue is about 22 minutes, so Longley is the clear choice. ## Mount Rose Highway mileage Living at the top of a grade means every trip home is a climb. The Mount Rose Highway climbs all the way to the summit, and the neighborhoods along it are already well above the 4,426 feet of the service center (USGS 3DEP). Climbing with a load, cold starts on snowy mornings and long downhill runs on the brakes are all things owner's manuals list under severe service. Our [high-altitude guide](https://xpressoilandlube.com/guides/high-altitude-driving-maintenance/) covers what changes. The maintenance check at every oil change looks at coolant, the battery at participating service centers, wipers and washer fluid, the items that matter most on a snowy grade. ## 89511 in the ACS ZCTA 89511 has 30,956 residents in 13,054 households, with a median household income of $124,130 per the ACS and a median age of 46 (ACS 2020-2024). Households average 2.08 vehicles, and 69.9 percent own two or more. The mean commute is 20.4 minutes, with 69.6 percent driving alone. ## Smog test rules up the hill South Reno, Galena and the Mount Rose corridor below the summit are in Washoe County's testing area on the Nevada DMV emission page. Incline Village and Crystal Bay, over the top on the lake side, are exempt, but 89511 is not. Gasoline vehicles past their third registration are tested every year, and a passing test lasts 90 days. ### Sources - [api.census.gov/data/2024/acs/acs5](https://api.census.gov/data/2024/acs/acs5) (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2020-2024 5-year estimates for ZCTA 89511, retrieved 2026-10-15) - [project-osrm.org/](https://project-osrm.org/) (OSRM free-flow car routing from the ZIP area to our service centers, 2026-10-15) - [dmv.nv.gov/emission.htm](https://dmv.nv.gov/emission.htm) (Nevada DMV Emission Control Program, read 2026-10-15) - [usgs.gov/3d-elevation-program](https://www.usgs.gov/3d-elevation-program) (USGS 3DEP elevation at the service center, read 2026-10-15) ### Closest service center: Reno South - Call [(775) 828-6996](tel:+17758286996) Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm, Sat 8 am-3 pm, Sun closed - Address [4993 Longley Ln, Reno, NV 89502](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&destination=4993+Longley+Ln%2C+Reno%2C+NV+89502&destination_place_id=ChIJc5xNCcI_mYARXjHn3y79iJw) [Xpress smog checks here](https://xpresssmogcenter.com/) [Directions](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&destination=4993+Longley+Ln%2C+Reno%2C+NV+89502&destination_place_id=ChIJc5xNCcI_mYARXjHn3y79iJw) ### What a customer said Reno South Great service.
