Dayton commuters put in more car time than almost anyone in our area: a 30.8-minute mean commute each way, 2.26 vehicles per household and 76.2 percent of households owning two or more (Census ACS 5-year 2024). Many of them drive into Carson City or over to Reno every day. An hour of daily driving in summer with weak A/C is the kind of thing people put up with until July, then cannot.
Most Dayton commuters already pass our service center. Take US-50 west to Carson City, north on Airport Road, and west on College Parkway; the service center is at 1861 E College Pkwy, about 18 minutes and 11.5 miles from the middle of Dayton by OSRM free-flow routing. Stop on the way to work or on Saturday, with no appointment.

The Carson City NOAA station averages 39.5 days a year at 90 F or hotter and an 86.1 F average high from June through August (NOAA 1991-2020 normals). The open stretch of US-50 east of Carson has little shade, and the afternoon commute home runs straight into the sun. Most vehicles from the mid-2010s and earlier use R-134a; most newer ones use R-1234yf, which the EPA lists as the lower global-warming refrigerant. We service both.
