Oil changes by vehicle

These pages list the oil grade and change interval each manufacturer publishes for the models we see most in Northern Nevada, so you can check what we pour against what your manual says. The type pages cover what changes for pickups, SUVs, hybrids, diesels, high-mileage vehicles and work vans.

A Tacoma, an Outback and a Silverado 2500 do not want the same oil or the same interval, and the manual for each one says so in black and white. Toyota, for instance, specifies 0W-20 on most current models with a 10,000-mile or 12-month interval under normal conditions and 5,000 miles under special operating conditions, which in this part of Nevada often means towing, dust and mountain grades. We follow the manufacturer's specification in the bay; these pages let you read it before you arrive.

By make

Twenty makes, from Toyota and Honda through Ford, Chevrolet and Subaru to the European brands with their own oil approvals. Each page cites the maker's maintenance schedule or owner's manual for the grade and interval, lists the models that fill our service centers, and notes anything that make does differently: cartridge filters, cabin filter access, the oil-life monitor, the reset procedure.

By type

Six type pages explain how the job changes when the vehicle does: higher capacity and tow-rated intervals for pickups, the severe-service schedule for SUVs that climb to Tahoe every weekend, engine-off miles on hybrids, the oil spec and filter on diesel pickups, what high-mileage oil actually does for a car past 75,000 miles, and the hard-use intervals for work vans.

Find your make, read what the manual says, then drive in and we will match it.
