Transmission fluid service for Golden Valley drivers: Mae Anne Avenue, 17 minutes

Golden Valley is small, 1,139 residents in the Census count, and older than most of Reno, with a median age of 61.8 (Census ACS 5-year 2024). The hill

Golden Valley Road climbs off the valley floor, and the last part of every trip home is uphill in a lower gear. In winter the hill is colder than the Reno airport, which already averages 122 freezing nights a year (NOAA 1991-2020 normals). Cold fluid is thick, so first shifts on a January morning are slow. That is normal on good fluid and worse on old fluid.

Golden Valley Road or Lemmon Drive to US-395 south, exit at North McCarran, west to Mae Anne Avenue and the service center at 6100. Staying on US-395 through town to Longley Lane is about a minute shorter.
