Washoe Valley sits between our Carson City and Reno service centers, about 16 minutes from College Parkway and 23 from Longley Lane, and both do the same A/C service: a gauge test first, a recharge only when the system is low. A leak or a failed part gets an honest referral to an A/C repair shop.

I-580 through Washoe Valley is one of the windiest stretches of highway in Nevada, and the wind carries dust off the lake bed and the valley floor. That matters for A/C, because a condenser packed with dust and bugs cannot shed heat. Washoe Valley (89704) households average 2.87 vehicles and a 26.0-minute commute (Census ACS 5-year 2024), most of it on the freeway to Reno or Carson.
Heading south? Take I-580 to the College Parkway exit in north Carson City; the service center is at 1861 E College Pkwy, about 16 minutes and 12.2 miles from the 89704 centroid by OSRM free-flow routing. Heading north? Our Longley Lane service center in south Reno is about 23 minutes and handles A/C the same way. NOAA keeps long records on both sides of the valley. The Carson City station averages 39.5 days a year at 90 F or hotter with an 86.1 F June-to-August average high; the Reno-Tahoe airport averages 65.1 days and 90.2 F (NOAA 1991-2020 normals). Washoe Valley usually lands between them, which still means weeks of afternoons when a weak A/C is miserable.
We recharge to the label weight only when the system is low and holding. If it is leaking, we stop and recommend an A/C repair shop; we do not do A/C repairs.
