East College Parkway crosses north Carson City from the I-580 interchange toward the north end of town, past the community college the road is named for and the shopping and industrial blocks that have grown up along it. Our service center has been on it since 1983, serving the capital and the towns that feed into it from US-50 and the Washoe Valley. This is the local post for the people who drive College Parkway every day.

The street and who comes down it
North Carson City 89706 is about 3 minutes from the bay, central and west Carson about 6, Mound House about 8 minutes up US-50, Indian Hills about 15, Washoe Valley about 16 and Dayton about 18 (OSRM free-flow routing). Carson City itself has about 58,000 people averaging 1.97 vehicles per household and a short 20.5-minute commute (Census ACS 5-year 2024), and Dayton adds nearly 16,000 more with the longest commute in the area at about 31 minutes, most of it down US-50 past this service center.
That is why the bay sees so many trucks. Josh B. brings a Toyota Tacoma and a Ram 3500 and says they always get the job done (Google review). Jessica P. brings three vehicles on a regular basis and calls every visit pleasant (Google review).
Smog checks and Carson City registrations
Carson City is not part of the Nevada DMV emissions program, which covers only the urban parts of Washoe and Clark counties. A vehicle registered at a Carson City, Dayton, Mound House or Carson Valley address renews without a smog check, which simplifies life in this bay. The two Reno service centers always have it on the menu.
What the bay does every day is the full-service oil change with the maintenance check, transmission fluid service, coolant flush, differential and power steering, filters, A/C service, bulbs and wipers. Kellie J. has used it for oil changes and a transmission flush since moving to Carson City (Google review).
What Carson City reviewers say
The Carson City reviews lean on two words: quick and kind. Kristina B. called the crew fast and efficient and always very kind and personable. Wendy D. has taken her vehicle here for ten years and says they have always been professional. Jim J. wrote that it is hard to find someone you can trust to work on your vehicle. Cathy B. was fully informed of additional issues found and advised of options with no pressure. All Google reviews.
Action I. put the whole model in one review: no appointment needed, quick, efficient and super friendly service (Google review). Victor V. called it a nice clean service center, very organized (Google review). Melody F. has been coming for years because of the skills of the crew (Google review).
- Quick: in and out, took me in right away
- Kind: polite, cheerful, respectful young men
- Straight: informed of issues, options explained, no pressure
Getting here, the weather and the hours
From I-580, take the College Parkway exit and head east; the service center is at 1861 on the north side of the parkway. From Dayton and Mound House, come in on US-50 and cut north. From Washoe Valley, it is a straight run down I-580. The bay is marked and a technician meets you at the car.
Carson City averages 146 nights a year at or below freezing and 43 at or below 20 F, with about 40 days at 90 F or hotter (NOAA 1991-2020), so this bay sees a battery and coolant rush in November and a coolant rush again in July. Hours are Monday through Friday 8 to 5 and Saturday 8 to 4, closed Sunday. If you are anywhere in the capital, Dayton, Mound House or Indian Hills and the sticker says it is time, the bay on College Parkway is open with no appointment.
