The Ranchos is bigger than Gardnerville or Minden, and it is mostly homes: the streets off Tillman Lane and Dresslerville Road, the newer neighborhoods to the south, and the open ground toward the Pine Nuts. Families with more than one car, long commutes and cold winter mornings.

From the Ranchos to the service center

Head north on Tillman Lane or Dresslerville Road to US-395, then north through Gardnerville to 1293 US Hwy 395 N at the north end of town. Waterloo Lane is the back way around Main Street traffic. OSRM gives about 10 minutes. Our Carson City service center is about 33 minutes north.

On a Saturday, remember the service center opens at 9 and closes at 3, so a morning visit leaves time for the rest of the day.

Smog checks: not for Ranchos cars

The Nevada DMV emission program covers only the urban parts of Washoe and Clark counties. Gardnerville Ranchos is in Douglas County, so a vehicle registered here renews without a smog check. If a family car is still registered in Reno, the Washoe test applies and our Reno service centers run it.

What the visit includes

No appointment. You stay with the vehicle while we drain the old oil, fit a new filter, refill with the grade the manual lists and run the maintenance check: air filter, fluids, lights, wipers, tire pressure and the battery at participating service centers.
