What each ZIP page covers

The household figures (population, vehicles per household, commute and income) come from the Census Bureau's ACS 2020-2024 estimates for that ZIP Code Tabulation Area.

The smog line differs by county. Reno, Sparks, the North Valleys, Spanish Springs, Verdi and Washoe Valley are in the Washoe County testing area on the Nevada DMV emission page, so those pages point to our two Reno service centers for the yearly test. Carson City, Dayton in Lyon County and the Douglas County ZIPs around Minden and Gardnerville are not testing areas, and those pages say so plainly.

Are the drive times exact?

No. They are OSRM free-flow routing from the middle of each ZIP. Add time for weekday traffic and winter roads.

Does my ZIP need a smog check?

Washoe County ZIPs in the testing area do, every year after the third registration. Carson City, Lyon County and Douglas County ZIPs do not (Nevada DMV).
