Oil change near ZIP 89511: South Reno, Arrowcreek and Galena, Longley Lane in 5 minutes

89511 is a long ZIP. It starts near the service center in south Reno and climbs southwest along the Mount Rose Highway through Arrowcreek, Galena Forest and the homes below Mount Rose, and south along Steamboat toward Pleasant Valley. The lower end is minutes from Longley Lane; the upper end is a mountain drive. Either way, this is the service center on the way into town.

From the foothills to Longley

From the Mount Rose Highway, come down to I-580 and head north, then exit toward Longley Lane; from the lower neighborhoods, South Virginia Street and Kietzke Lane get you there by surface streets. OSRM puts the ZIP center at 5 minutes. Homes up near Galena are naturally farther, more like a quarter hour or longer in winter. Mae Anne Avenue is about 22 minutes, so Longley is the clear choice.

South Reno, Galena and the Mount Rose corridor below the summit are in Washoe County's testing area on the Nevada DMV emission page. Incline Village and Crystal Bay, over the top on the lake side, are exempt, but 89511 is not. Gasoline vehicles past their third registration are tested every year, and a passing test lasts 90 days.
