The north end of the Spanish Springs Valley, where the Pyramid Highway heads out toward Pyramid Lake, is newer, roomier and farther out than anywhere else in the Sparks area. Bigger lots, more trucks and trailers, and a commute that starts with a long run down the highway. ZIP 89441 has the highest share of multi-vehicle households of any ZIP we serve.

North Spanish Springs is in Washoe County south of the 40th parallel, inside the testing area on the Nevada DMV emission page. Gasoline vehicles are tested every year from the fourth registration; hybrids from the sixth model year; diesel pickups up to 14,000 pounds GVWR as well. Heavier diesels and classic-plate vehicles under the mileage limit are exempt. A pass lasts 90 days.

Down the Pyramid Highway

Take the Pyramid Highway south through Spanish Springs to I-80, go west, merge onto I-580 south, and exit at Mill Street for Longley Lane. OSRM puts it at about 28 minutes free-flow; Mae Anne Avenue is about 30. Weekday traffic on Pyramid adds time, which is one reason Saturday mornings are popular. Longley is open Saturday 8 to 3, weekdays 8 to 5, closed Sunday.
